My current position in the Detroit Public School Community District is: Art Teacher at Cody High School. I provided art instruction for 9-12 grade levels. My focus is to introduce the elements and principals of art, color theory, basic drawing, 3D art, digital/multimedia art, art appreciation and creative thinking in project-based instructional units. The goal is to educate and inspire learners while they develop and explore their individual and group interest in the visual arts.

Representing Apple in a promotional capacity on the campus of the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa. Responsibilities include interacting with faculty, students and staff to demonstrate Apple hardware and software products. Presenting workshops and events in support of campus departments, assisting with educational conference workshop sessions and one-to-one demonstrations. Additional activities include Hawai‘i Medical College (Institute), new student iPad Orientations, working with the UH campus bookstore at university-sponsored events such as the “Mānoa Experience” and “New Student Orientations”. I work independently with the assistance of a coordinator at Apple headquarters and in conjunction with the Apple higher education account manager. My goal is to demonstrate how Apple products can benefit users in their teaching and learning.

Worked with Dr. Truc Nguyen on her Multimedia Juvenile Victimization (MJV), Internet Safety Research Project sponsored by the Department of Justice. Assisted in Internet safety research and other educational research projects. My duties required attention to detail and the ability to systematically perform research-related tasks—researched and summarized literature, supported qualitative and quantitative data collection, contacted study participants, prepared survey mail outs, observed and documented small group interview sessions, and assisted in compiling data reports. Conducted literature reviews, wrote research summaries, performed data processing, and entry. Developed PowerPoint charts and graphs and summarized data. Used my ability to manipulate data and transcribe voice recordings as desired. Coordinated events. Provided administrative and clerical support to research staff. Music Teacher,
Developed the 7th and 8th-grade music curriculum integrating music history, appreciation, beginning theory, song composition, and performance. Students learned various music genres such as Gospel, Blues, Jazz, Folk, Country, Rock, Funk, and Soul. Also, students wrote about music and musicians using the narrative, persuasive, and expository writing forms.

Promoted to direct contact representative. Primary responsibility was to market luxury vehicles and support services to 40 dealers throughout Iowa. In addition to managing my in-home office, specific functions included: scheduling routine visits with each dealer to review operations, made recommendations on marketing strategies, and ensured that operations were in compliance with company standards; notified dealers of new incentive packages and/or promotional events; reviewed dealer requests and made final determinations on new car distribution; served as a direct contact representative to resolve customer sales and service issues; served as a representative at new model shows and charitable events. Increased district sales by 15% from 1993 to 1995.

Consumer Relations Representative 1988 to 1991
Cadillac Roadside Service Representative assisted customers with roadside difficulties by expediting quick, on-site repair, and providing particular service information. Designed, developed and or redeveloped the Roadside Service training program and manual. Trained and supervised new Roadside Service employees. Other activities included the contribution of articles for the departmental newsletter, graphic design and photography for various Consumer Relations Center publications.
